The Ecstasy of Conspiracy (2020)

Editorial design

Mark Lombardi and the Ecstasy of Conspiracy is an essay by designer Michael Beirut. The essay covers the life and work of artist Mark Lombardi, his infatuation with conspiratorial links between global events and parties, and his ultimately untimely demise. The writing has a coldness about it, given Lombardi’s work around conspiracies and his subsequent mental health deterioration.

I set the text in a 10 page editorial issue with the same title as the essay, and attempted to capture the atmosphere of the writing in the design system and overall aesthetic that I opted for - using my own photography throughout. Made using Adobe InDesign.
